My Creative Juices Are All Dried up
By Jenett Zubero

Five Ways to Take the Opportunity When Creative Juices are All Dried Up - As an entrepreneur or business owner, it is crucial that we are creative in our work endeavors; it simply helps us to be noticed over our competition. However, what happens when creativity has run out and the only thing you can find to do is copy someone else?

1. Take the opportunity to take a rest. For a while, I was writing five of these articles a day, and then my creativity went "ca-put." Instead of trying to force "ways to take the opportunity," I simply took a two-month break from writing them. The payoff? I have so many more ideas now that I can't wait to write them each morning!

2. Take the opportunity to expand. What creative project have you done that brought great results? Take your old project and give it a new twist. before you know it, you're off to a whole different creative process!

3. Take the opportunity to ask for help. Who do you know that doesn't (does not) know your business well? Ask that person to tell you what they *think you do for a living. It might give you some great insight of how to market yourself.

4. Take the opportunity to "play it again." If it worked once, why not try using it again?

5. Take the opportunity to be WILD. Here's an exercise: If you're feeling "under-creative," stand up in the middle of your office. (Please be careful and don't hurt yourself!). Shut your eyes. Turn around slowly until you loose your orientation in the room. Point your finger out and move SLOWLY until you touch something. Open your eyes. Use that as your "subject" for your next creative tryst.. For example, if I touched a tack, I might use it as the following slogan, "Stuck to the wall? Get a coach."

-Creativity ebbs and flows. Don't despair, find YOUR way to make it work!

Today, more than 2,500 years after they were written, his ideas about life, nature, and the cosmos remain as startlingly original as ever. In Expect the Unexpected (Or You Won't Find It), Roger von Oech uses thirty of Heraclitus' epigrams as springboards to dazzling creativity. Treating each saying as an inexhaustible source of inspiration, he supplies amusing anecdotes, mind-bending riddles, hidden jokes, and intriguing questions designed to topple old habits of thought and fire the imagination.

Affirmations for Artists
by Eric Maisel. "Creativity requires introspection, self-examination, and a willingness to take risks. Because of this, artists are perhaps more susceptible to self-doubt and despair than those who do not court the creative muses. This book of affirmations is compiled with the special needs of artistic persons in mind. Arranged in alphabetical order by topic (Disbelief, Imitation, Talent), each page includes a handful of relevant quotations by writers, musicians, actors, or other creative people, a commentary by the author, and, of course, an affirmation."
